The Scottish Crop Research Institute has created this frost resistant cultivar for the home gardener. The mildew resistant bush is easily maintained at 3-4 feet tall with 2-3 feet spacing. It produces an abundance of large, flavorful fruit, so much so that the branches may need support. It is best grown in organically rich, medium moisture, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade, preferring cool summer climates. Plants are self-fertile. Black currants have outstanding health benefits, ripening in July.
