One of the best hardy varieties for container gardening. This dwarf fig is known for its smaller growth habit and abundance of medium sized brebas per crop. This plant will get about 6 foot tall and wide, smaller with some pruning but figs do come in on previous years growth so keep that in mind when pruning in fall. You can get two crops a year with this variety, late July and again late September. Figs always produce a better crop when in full sun but the Little Ruby can grow in partial shade with reduced crop yield. The figs brebas are red-brown in color with a ‘ruby’ center that has a wonderful taste when eaten fresh or dried.
