Clove Currant (Black Topaz)

Black Topaz is a new selection of the Clove currant with very large fruit. This fruiting shrub blooms in March-April with fragrant yellow flowers followed by uniquely-flavored, black fruit, ripening in July, excellent for fresh eating, juicing, or baking. Currants like 1/2 day-to-full sun and well-drained soil. At maturity they will grow 3-5 feet in height and are hardy to minus 40 degrees.
