Chestnut (Marrisard)

The Marrisard chestnut tree produces large to very large chestnuts starting at the age of 4-6 years. Full production is realized in 12 – 20 years depending on the location. Nut fall is usually late October. One of the best European x Japanese hybrid chestnut trees for chestnut blight areas. Marrissard does not produce pollen so it requires another pollen producing chestnut tree to produce nuts and is pollen sterile.
