Highbush Cranberry- Viburnum opulus
A valuable multi-purpose shrub, Highbush Cranberry is prized for its medicinal properties, for its fruit, and for its ornamental value. In its native range in Eastern Europe, it grows on stream banks and in forests and meadows. In the spring, it produces large clusters of snow white flowers, followed in September by very attractive, bright red berries and striking, reddish orange foliage. Highbush Cranberry fruit is used to make jam, jelly, juice, candy and baked goods. Berry sweetens after frost.
