Guava (Tropical White)

The Tropical White is named for its creamy, white flesh and has yellowish-green peels. This variety has a balanced sweetness with slightly larger, chewable seeds, which do not take away from the flavor, and produces fruit 3-4″ in size. The guava is a sub-tropical tree and will be happy in a sunny spot. It does best in the United States in growing zones 9 through 11. They thrive in heat and humidity. Growers in cooler climates can keep these trees on the patio for the summer, or houseplants with success. Provide them with rich, well-drained soil; no soggy ground for guava! Tropical White can also be used as a flowering and fruiting privacy hedge.
