Description
Alma is considered a high-quality fig tree. It was bred at Texas A&M University and requires full-to-partial sun. They thrive in well-drained, sandy, moist, loam soils but are highly tolerant of poor soil conditions. The Alma is extremely productive and produces a breba and main crop. The fruit is small-to-medium in size, pear shaped, with golden-brown skin and an amber pulp. Alma figs are sweet with a delicate flavor. It is cold hardy to 6° F. At maturity it grows to a height of 8-10 feet. It is self-fertile.
