The Reed avocado is named after James S. Reed, a farmer from California in 1948 but is originally of Guatemalan parentage. It is a Type-A variety and is one of the largest known varieties. The fruit is very round, very large, and thick skinned. It can be about the size of a softball! These green avocados have a creamy smooth texture and excellent buttery-flavored flesh.

An extra long box for taller trees is totally worth it to me. The trees are great.
It looks like it is at least 7 feet tall. I certainly was not expecting it to be that big.
