Tejocote (Yellow Fruit)

Tejocote trees produce a fruit that ripens late October. The fruit is 1-2″ in diameter and has a sweet-tart apple-like flavor when cooked, it is often used in ponche- a hot fruit punch drank around the holidays. Self-fertile and hardy to around 5 degree F.
